How to create a sales quote
In the Sales Quotes module, you record price requests, which can include various products. This can be based on a relationship or a debtor. The premise is that it concerns a request for a product whose price is not yet known. A (potential) customer wants to know what it would cost if you were to have that product made.
For creating a sales quote, your relationship does not need to be a debtor. In the Relationships module, you have the option to create a new quote for that relationship via the 'Sales' tab. How this works, you can read here. Of course, you can also go directly to the Sales Quotes module. Below you will read how the latter works.
Step 1: Click on New Quote
Open the Sales Quotes module. You will land on the module start page. Under 'Actions', you will find the New Quote button
. Click on it. A new sales quote opens. Here you can record all the data from your relationship's quote request.
Step 2: Fill in the sales quote header
Go to the Relationship field and select the relationship. Optionally fill in the other fields, such as Your reference. Expand the 'Data' section and fill in the fields, such as Desired response date (this field is not present in MKG3) and Delivery time.
Expand the 'Address' section and check the addressing. The address field is filled with the standard address and the standard contact person, as configured in the linked relationship by ticking the checkbox for the sales quote there. You automate the salutation in the relationship at the contact person. This address field can be manually adjusted via the buttons
and .
Step 3: Create the sales quote
Click on Save
. The sales quote is created. In the preview of the Sales Quote (8400) report, "Concept Quote" has changed to "Quote". You can now add one or more sales quote lines, which you can either include in a calculation or offer immediately.
