Setting up Shop Floor (3): layout

After the technical and functional setup has been completed, you can customize each Shop Floor terminal with its own layout. Create a unique layout for each terminal. With this third and final part of a series of articles on setting up the Shop Floor, you can now take the final steps towards a functional Shop Floor.

All components for the layout and screen views, as they should be displayed on the terminal(s) via the Smart Client, are configured in the MKG Client. Consider the order and labels of tiles, as well as views and searches. The mkgbridge replicates the exact display from this client after you have closed it.

Step 1: Launch an MKG Client

Launch an MKG Client and log in with the user credentials 'shopfloor'. In MKG, a screen will now appear that largely corresponds to the Smart Client display.

Step 2: Customize the layout

Right-click in the middle of the screen (not on a tile). Then click on 'List Settings' and select 'Layout'. In the pop-up window, you can customize the screen layout, tile size, and arrangement.

Step 3: Create searches

Click on the Search

button and check 'Show search'. The Add Field
button will appear:

  • General Search Field. This search field has default values to search for. In the MKG Client, you need to have 'Show Search' active to customize the search field differently than the default. Right-click in the search field and then click on 'Options'. The settings for the general search field will appear in a pop-up. Note that the 'standard fields' are faintly visible here for the search field. The search field is available on the 'Planning' and 'Production Ready' tabs and when starting an operation.

Once a search is set up, it will be used at the next login.

Please note!
If changes made are not immediately visible in the Smart Client, logging out and then logging back in can sometimes help.
