How to set up Shop Floor (3): Layout

After completing the technical and functional setup, each Shop Floor terminal can be assigned its own layout. Create a unique one for each terminal. Based on this third and final part in a series of articles on how to set up the Shop Floor, you can now take the final steps towards a working Shop Floor.

All components for the layout and screen displays, as they should be shown on the terminal(s) via the Smart Client, are set up in the MKG Client. This includes the order and labels of tiles, views, and searches. The mkgbridge retains the exact display from this client after you close it.

Step 1: Start a MKG Client

Start a MKG Client and log in using the credentials of the “shopfloor” user.  In MKG, a screen now appears that largely matches the view of the Smart Client.

Step 2: Adjust the layout

Right-click in the middle of the screen (not on a tile). Via 'List Settings', click on 'Layout'. In the pop-up window, you can set the screen layout as well as the size and arrangement of the tiles.

Step 3: Create search queries

Click on the Searches button

and check 'Show Search'. The Add Field button
appears:

  • General Search Field. This search field has a number of default values that are used for searching. In the MKG client, the 'Show Search' setting must be activated to set the search field differently from the default. Right-click in the search field and then click on 'Options'. The settings for the general search field are shown via a pop-up. Note that the 'Default Fields' are visible in front of the search field in light gray. The search field is available on the 'Planning' and 'Production Ready' tabs and when starting an operation.

When a search query is set, it will be used at the next login.

Please note!
Are changes not immediately visible in the Smart Client? It may help to log out and then log back in.
