How to enable users to work with activities

Activities are useful tools in the MKG software that allow you to record agenda items and tasks. However, it is not standard for all users to be able to use activities. This guide explains how to determine who has access to activities and how to create activity types that serve as the basis for your activities.

Access to activities

Not all users can simply use activities. In MKG, this is determined per user based on authorization. If you do not have access, you can discuss this with an administrator within your organization. In the Users module, some of the rights of each user can be checked. Select the relevant person and go to the 'Other' section.

If the 'Active within activities' option is checked, the user can be selected when creating or modifying activities. In the Activities module, only the user's own activities are visible, and it is only possible to create a new activity for oneself.

The 'May manage all activities' option allows the user to create, modify, and delete activities on behalf of others, regardless of the username entered on the activity. This user also gets a list of activities under other users' names in the Activities module.

Activity types

From the Activity Types module, you manage all types of activities. The module contains a table with a unique number and a description for all activities.

For convenience, the table includes some standard examples of activities provided by MKG. You can edit this list, for example, by adding more activity types with the New

button or removing existing activity types with the Delete
button.

If you create a new activity type, a line is added at the bottom of the table. Enter a unique number (maximum 4 digits) in the first column. Then provide a description for the activity in the second column. It is advisable to choose a concise description that clearly reflects the content of the activity. When finished, click Save

to save the new type.
