Om de samenstelling van een product (artikel) te kunnen vastleggen kan er in MKG gebruik worden gemaakt van stuklijsten. In een stuklijst wordt als het ware het recept van een product/artikel vastgelegd.

Met een productconfigurator kan een standaard product van verschillende afmetingen en opties samengesteld worden. Een stuklijst kan zo geconfigureerd worden dat het een productconfigurator wordt.
