New Module: History

To activate tracking your history, open the module (via the search bar or via Menu » System » History) and click on Settings. The history can be configured for each table separately.

Operation

To track history for a table, you need to select one or more fields under Modified Fields. Once any of these fields are modified, a copy of the old data is saved. This copy contains all fields from the database.
In addition, you can set whether history should be tracked for:

  • New Lines » Yes
  • Deleted Lines » Yes

Viewing Historical Data

Using the Parameters button in the History module, you can make a selection based on:

  • Date from
  • Date to
  • Include Deleted Lines

After confirming your selection by clicking OK, you need to refresh the list to apply the filters. All fields from the table can be added to the list and show the data before the change, with 3 exceptions:

  • Changed on » Date of modification
  • Changed at » Time of modification
  • Changed by » User who made the modification

The Line History Difference field shows which fields have been changed, when the change was made, and by which user. For new or deleted records, 'NEW' or 'DELETED' is displayed, respectively.

Form for History in Tables

For tables where history is tracked, form 'History (8301)' has been added. Here you can view changes per record. You can also filter by date using Parameters.

Authorization

  • The History module is by default only available to users with administrator rights. Access at user level can be set via Authorization Overview.
  • The Settings button within the module is also only available to administrators, but can be authorized per user via Authorization Overview.
  • Form 'History (8301)' is by default accessible to all users. If desired, access can be restricted via Authorization Overview.
