How to create a relation

The relation forms the basis for all your quotes and orders that you record in MKG. With this article, you can easily and quickly create a relation in a few steps.

To create a relation, fill in the fields in the header of the relation. The header contains the general information that applies to the entire relation. At a minimum, you need a company name; optionally, a general phone number, a general email address, and an internet address. By creating a relation, you generate the standard report Relation Card (8000). Follow the step-by-step plan and easily and quickly create a relation in MKG.

Step 1: Create a relation card

Open the CRM module.  You will land on the module start page. Under 'Actions,' you will find the New

button. Click on it.

Step 2: Fill in the fields in the header

You now have an empty relation card in front of you. On this card, you can manage all the information of your relation. Immediately below the navigation bar is the header; below that, you see the 'General', 'Addresses', 'Contacts', 'Purchase', 'Sales', 'Notifications', 'Tasks', and 'Documents' tabs. The preview is on the right side of the screen. You can turn this report preview on or off via the Preview

button.

To create a relation, fill in the Company Name, Telephone, E-mail, and Website fields in the header. The 'Active' box must be checked (= default). Now enter the company name [required], the general phone number, the general email address, and the internet address.

Please note!
Do not use the fields in the header for extension numbers or personal email addresses. You can enter these on the 'Contacts' tab. Check this article for more information.

Step 3: Create the relation

Have you filled in the fields? Then click on Save

. The relation is created. MKG now automatically assigns a relation number. The changes made are immediately visible in the preview of the standard report Relation Card (8000).

On the 'General' tab, you can, if you want, adjust the company name in the Search Name field. You can now add one or more addresses and one or more contacts to this relationship. You can also create a sales quote for this relation, and you can make this relation a debtor or a creditor.
