Smart Connected Supplier Network (SCSN)

SCSN is an initiative involving various manufacturing industry partners, such as ERP vendors, OEMs, raw material suppliers, subcontractors, and research institutions, aiming to collectively share a standard for data exchange, for example, order confirmations, delivery notes, and invoices.

The standard focuses on both the content of a message and the way a message is exchanged between parties. The concept is that by connecting once, a partner can exchange data with all other partners in the network.

Common Terms

  • SCSN-ID. A unique identifier for a connected partner within SCSN, usually a GLN code.
  • GLN. The Global Location Number is a code consisting of 13 or 14 digits. GLN codes are issued and registered by GS1. A GLN code can be used to identify a company ('administration') or (delivery) address.
  • Broker. The address book of SCSN, where all connected partners are registered with their SCSN-ID.
  • Service provider. A partner with an SCSN connector that can send messages into the network according to the SCSN standard and receive messages according to the standard. Supplydrive is an example of a service provider.
