Time Registration: Administration Settings

This article describes the administration settings on the 'General' tab. On this tab, you will find the settings for 'Registration default based on', 'Entering hours', 'Processing hours', 'Holidays', and 'Operations'.

The administration settings form the foundation of MKG. From numbering orders to the flow of processes, everything is determined by the administration settings.

Registration Default Based on

  • Registration Default Based on
    • Start and End Times: used to register hours based on a start time and a stop time. The time in between is the time recorded for this action. If registered via the Shop Floor, hours are processed in this manner.
    • Total Times: used to choose the registration of the total times of the operations. This applies only if hours are booked manually. Time registration via the Shop Floor is always based on start and end times.
  • Overtime Machines. Selection field to determine how to book the overtime of machines. The overtime type is not registered on machine time but only on standard time, and can be the same as man time.

Entering Hours

  • Default Entry Date. Selection field to choose the default entry date. The hours entry screen will default start with this date. Three options:
    • Today
    • Yesterday
    • Do not fill in
  • Production Orders with Completed Quantities. Selection field to indicate when hours may be booked on a production order. Three options:
    • According to Status & Actions
    • Report
    • Block

Processing Hours

  • Periods Always Close Consecutively. Removes the possibility to close a period in between without closing previous periods.

Holidays

  • Holiday Operation. The operation created to register holidays must be entered here to mark it as a holiday operation.
  • Overtime Type for Worked Hours. If work is done on a holiday, the overtime type under which the hours should be booked can be indicated here.

Operations

  • Book Hours Based on. Selection field with the following two options:
    • Pre-calculation Operations. Hours can only be booked on pre-calculation operation rules.
    • Planning Operations. Hours can only be booked on planned operation rules.
  • Completion Notification. Selection field to select the method of completion notification. In the first two options, the requirement on the pre-calculation is lifted. In the last option, no hours need to be booked:
    • Only notify operation completion.
    • Notify quantities and operations completion.
    • Do not notify quantities and operations completion (excluding outsourcing).
  • Always Book Hours on End Product. Checkbox to indicate whether or not hours should always be booked on the end product.
  • Direct Hours Mandatory on Pre-calculation Operation. All direct post-calculation hours are thereby assigned to pre-calculation operations, despite the operation code possibly differing. Comparison is thereby better possible.

Choices for settings are made and documented during the implementation process. Changes to these can have far-reaching consequences. Therefore, only make changes under the guidance of an MKG consultant or the MKG Helpdesk. Authorization of the administration settings is recommended to prevent unexpected changes without the knowledge of the system administrator.
