Place Material Lines on a Picklist

Note! This manual is developed for the MKG004 software. If you are using MKG5, the description of the operation may differ from your environment. We aim to provide a product-specific description for this topic in the future.

Issuing is the logistical action where inventory is actually allocated to a production order. This can only occur if inventory is available. To clarify this, it is chronologically depicted in the image below:

To place material lines on a picklist, perform the following steps:

1. Present the Required Information and Select Material Lines

Make a selection of the material lines that need to be displayed using the previously described choices. For example, present all material lines required by the end of this week.

2. Select Already Reserved Material Lines

When material lines are placed on a picklist that are already reserved (t2 in the image above, indicated with a green checkmark), selecting the lines is sufficient.

It is possible to adjust an existing reservation and thus deviate from the previously performed (automatic) reservation.

3. Select and Reserve Material Lines with Demand

When material lines are placed on a picklist that are not yet reserved (t1 in the image above, indicated without a green checkmark), they must first be reserved to be placed on a picklist.

• Select the material line.
• Create a reservation at the bottom of the screen. The screen presents (depending on the choice below) the desired batches.
• Show the freely available stock. Batches in stock (purchase order booked in, production order reported ready) with a freely available quantity.
• Show the physical stock. Batches in stock (purchase order booked in, production order reported ready). The free quantity may also be 0 units here.
• Determine the remaining handling. When only a portion of the demand can be reserved:
• Place the remainder on the picklist. Place the remaining demand on the picklist without a reservation being made. The reservation can be made at a later stage (according to the image above, the action 'Picklist' will be moved from between t2/t3 to t1/t2 in this specific case).
• Issue the remainder later. Leave a remaining demand (also in the Demand Advice List) for the quantity that cannot be reserved.
• Cancel the remaining demand. This choice cancels the remaining demand of the production order material line. Use this, for example, when the remaining demand is provided in another way (new purchase order, available unregistered stock, etc.).

4. Manually Add Missing Lines

When material lines need to be placed on a picklist that do not appear as demand or reservation, it is possible to add this manually. Choose the button New….

• A new line appears on the screen.
• Enter article, description, or VRM line.
• Create a reservation.

5. Generate a Picklist

Choose Process…. The following screen appears:

Now choose the button Picklist. A report with the selected production order material lines appears. The material lines are not yet actually allocated to the production order(s) and are still in inventory. To now write off the inventory, the picklist must be reported back (see Report Back Picklist).

Issue Material Lines

You can choose to skip the picklist routine. In such a case, the demand will be issued directly, which writes off the inventory. This action generates a warehouse issue slip. Follow the steps as described in generating the picklist. However, at step 5, choose Issue instead of Picklist.

It is possible that you cannot choose Issue. The reason for this is the choice 'Place remainder on picklist' which cannot be used in combination with issuing.
