As of 2018, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies. Anyone who works with personal data, such as employee data and contact details of business relations, is affected by this legislation.

How will MKG deal with this regulation and what does this mean for the MKG ERP software?

Independently of the legislation, security and privacy are important themes within our software and organization. We critically assess the parties we work with and handle third party information with care. We aim for proper compliance with the GDPR and consider it essential that you can rely on our software being secure. This is a continuous process that goes beyond only the personal data to which this legislation applies.

At MKG, we consider it very important that your data is handled properly. Below we explain which data we collect and why we do so, and what you can do if you disagree.

We strive to handle your data with the utmost confidentiality. All information is stored securely and is only accessible to people who need access due to their role. We achieve this by implementing technical, security and organizational measures. This prevents unauthorized use of your data. Any potential security incident is investigated and appropriate measures are taken. MKG has established an internal Data Breach protocol that complies with the GDPR.

Which personal data do we collect and for what purpose?


We collect personal data from prospects, customers, suppliers and visitors to our website, both during telephone conversations and personal visits. We collect the following personal data that is necessary for proper follow up:

First and last name, gender, so that we can address you correctly
Job title, so that we better understand which information and tips are relevant to you
Information preferences, also to better determine which information and tips are relevant to you
Telephone numbers, so that we can contact you if necessary
Email addresses and public social media addresses, also for contact purposes
Company name

If you would like insight into the personal data that may have been collected about you by MKG, or if you wish to correct, supplement, modify or delete your personal data, please contact us. If you are a customer, you automatically have access to a portal where you can view, modify and have collected data deleted. We do not retain data longer than necessary.

Providing support services to our customers


In some cases, a recent copy of the database is requested when providing support or consultancy. This always takes place in consultation and with the customer’s consent. We are aware that a database contains many personal and financial data of a specific customer and therefore handle this with care:

The database is used strictly to analyze or reproduce a software issue.
The database is stored in a secure environment and no longer than necessary.

 

What we record on our websites


Our contact forms

Our website contains several contact forms in which we ask you to enter your personal data. This data is recorded solely for the purpose of contacting you or sending requested information from MKG. This data is not shared with third parties.

Which cookies do we use and for what purpose?

At MKG we use various cookies that make your visit to our website or websites more pleasant and easier. For example, they ensure that you do not have to enter your password every time or that we can better show you the information you need.

We use the following web tools:

Google Analytics This allows us to track which pages perform well and which need improvement. Google Analytics is configured to comply with the latest cookie legislation. All data in Google Analytics is stored in anonymized form and cannot be traced back to individuals.
   


If desired, the use of cookies can be disabled entirely via the web browser. For this, please contact your ICT service provider.

Our software


To enable MKG customers to comply with the new regulations, we offer various options within the software to handle personal data in accordance with the guidelines. In addition, we are developing functionalities that help customers meet GDPR obligations without depending on our support staff. With our business relations we will conclude a data processing agreement that sets out, among other things, how we handle personal data and confidentiality obligations.
