In the webinar Connect Your Software with Smart Industry Add-ons, we will first show you the current possibilities to automate your processes through add-ons, or partner integrations. As an example, two integrations are highlighted: the CAD integration SOLIDWORKS from CAD2M and the Logistics Scan System from ICS Vertex.

CAD2M: SOLIDWORKS

With the SOLIDWORKS ERP integration, you can directly create articles, bills of materials, and documents from SOLIDWORKS 3D CAD and update them in your ERP system. This ensures you always work with up-to-date data, reduces the chance of human errors, and shortens the lead time from design to production. ICS Vertex: Logistics Scan System

With this mobile application, the production worker is enabled to handle work processes paperlessly within MKG through barcode scanning. The user-friendly interface is multilingual and intuitive enough to be quickly implemented without extensive training. The combination of direct control at the moment of scanning materials and real-time processing in MKG, without manual actions, ensures more accurate inventory information. Additionally, everyone in MKG has immediate insight into where the products are placed and the progress of a production order. Questions Asked During the Webinar

Does the Logistics Scan System also work with the MKG App?

At this moment, the Logistics Scan System from ICS Vertex partially works with the MKG App. ICS Vertex will further develop the functionality.

Is it possible to print a label immediately upon goods receipt?

Not at this moment. ICS Vertex will address goods receipt and the corresponding labels at a later stage.

Is it possible to issue part of a reservation, ensuring the inventory always matches the production quantity?

Not at this moment. ICS Vertex will also address this at a later stage.

How does ICS Vertex support work?

ICS Vertex can remotely take over devices to provide direct support. Software updates and firmware settings are also rolled out in this manner.

Does the SOLIDWORKS CAD integration also work with the Production Orders module, so existing links do not need to be removed?

Currently, only the processing of bills of materials is supported. This additional functionality will be discussed with CAD2M.

Where does the maintenance of articles take place?

Maintenance can occur in both MKG and SOLIDWORKS, but in practice, it will mainly happen in MKG. It is advisable to consider this during setup.

Does the SOLIDWORKS CAD integration also work in reverse, from ERP to SOLIDWORKS?

Bills of materials only go from CAD/PDM/PLM to MKG, as the structure is determined in CAD. CAD2M is working on transferring article information from MKG to SOLIDWORKS. For example, if I create a new model of a purchased part already in MKG, I would like to adopt the article number and description from MKG.

What do you need for both integrations?

You need an MKG Exchange license that allows the API to communicate with the outside world.

What are the additional costs for the add-ons?

On the MKG side, it only concerns the MKG Exchange license. Add-on partners may charge a fee for development.

What is the plan for upcoming add-ons, for example, an add-on for quality registration?

We expect to connect an add-on partner every month. This will be presented on our website. So keep an eye on the site. Quality registration can also be very well handled within MKG through the module Notifications.
