Indirect Fields in Lists

To easily display data from linked tables, you can now use 'indirect fields'. These fields allow you to 'point through' from the current table to a linked table. This option can be found under list settings: Right-click in list List settings Indirect field... . For example:

• Sales order line.Sales order.Order date
• Sales quote line.Item.Free field 1

Frequent use of indirect fields can lead to reduced performance of the list in which you use them. If you group or sort by non-database fields, a warning will appear in the column header indicating that sorting/grouping by this column may affect the performance of MKG. The warning appears for calculated fields, User LDM fields, and indirect fields.
