MKG Terminal Server (on-premise or private cloud) System Requirements

To make optimal use of our software, we advise you to meet our recommended system requirements. This article contains advice for using the terminal server on-premise or private cloud.

 

 

The MKG Client software can be installed in a terminal server environment. The software connects to the MKG cloud environment or to the on-premise server.

 

General requirements

 

When purchasing a new server or a new virtualization platform, we recommend using the latest processor technology. The minimum requirement for a processor is currently an Intel Xeon with quad-core technology. We recommend assigning one processor core to every 10 MKG users. If you want to install MKG on an existing server, the requirements below also apply.

 

Memory

 

The minimum amount of RAM for the operating systems listed below is 8 GB, but it is recommended > 16GB. The average memory usage of a single MKG Client is 512 MB. This can increase when using multiple modules or when running reports.

 

Harddisk

 

The minimum amount of free space on the system partition must be 4 GB. The installation of the MKG Client takes approximately 1 GB.

 

Operating system

 

We currently support the following operating systems:

  • Windows Server 2025, 2022 and 2019 DataCenter Edition, 64 bit
  • Windows Server 2025, 2022 and 2019 Essentials Edition, 64 bit
  • Windows Server 2025, 2022 and 2019 Standard Edition, 64 bit

 

Network

 

The network must support a minimum speed of 1 Gbps. It is recommended that a speed of > 1Gbps. In addition, the following basic settings are necessary:

  • TCP/IP (Version 4), a fixed IP/V4 number.
  • DNS V4 record available for MKG server.

The following outbound rules apply in the firewall solution:

  • TCP, 443, application: MKG appserver based on HTTPS protocol (when using the MKG Cloud).
  • TCP, 8080 or 8443, application: MKG appserver based on HTTP(S) protocol (when using an on-premise server).

 

Internet

 

To ensure proper functioning of the software, an internet connection is required. This connection is used for:

  • retrieving software updates.
  • performing license checks.
  • storing user-specific configurations such as report definitions and formulas.

Please note:
These configurations may be accessed by MKG for support purposes, but they do not contain any business-critical data. No data is extracted for analytical or commercial purposes. 

 

An internet connection is also required to receive remote support. This support is provided using software specifically designed for remote assistance, allowing MKG to temporarily and securely access a workstation to provide help. This access only takes place at the user's request and under their supervision.

If whitelisting is desired, for example when using a firewall or proxy server, traffic to the domain mkg.eu must be allowed, including the following subdomains:

  • support.mkg.eu
  • webshell.mkg.eu

 

Screen

 

We recommend a screen with a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels, with the dpi set to 100%. For workstations where the MKG Planning modules must run, we recommend larger screen diagonals with higher resolutions. Multiple screens (dual screen) are supported. A graphics chip/video card with support for DirectX 11 (or higher) is required.

 

Additional components

 

The following components must be installed or enabled prior to installing the MKG software:

  • Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8

In addition to these, system requirements have also been drawn up for the MKG Cloud, the MKG Workstation and the MKG Server (on-premise or private cloud).
