Journal Entries

The journal diary is used for other (monthly) journal entries, such as the payroll journal entry, but also for correction entries. Journal entries are one of the four manual financial entries in MKG.

Note!
This manual is developed for the MKG004 software. If you are using MKG5 or MKG3, the operation description may differ slightly from your environment. We strive to create a product-specific description for this topic in the future.

The journal book in MKG appears as follows:

In the header, a 'Diary' must be selected. In this field, only diaries that are typed as 'Journal' in the master data of the diaries can be selected. After selecting a diary, the toolbar becomes active. With the buttons in the toolbar, an entered entry can be recorded (provided the entry is balanced), a change/created entry can be undone, a recorded entry can be selected and modified, a recurring journal entry can be opened, and a journal entry can be Saved or Saved as.

When the payroll journal entry is provided monthly by the accounting office, a recurring journal entry can be created in MKG. In this way, the structure of the journal entry is recorded, and only the amounts and date need to be filled in when posting the same journal entry in a new period.

With the Place in all lines button, the description of the header can be copied to the lines of the journal entry. This way, unnecessary typing (and thus potential errors) can be avoided.

MKG checks whether the entry is balanced. If this is not the case, the entry cannot be recorded. It is indicated on the header how (debit/credit) the entry is out of balance and by what amount.

After saving a journal entry, the window will be cleared, and the document number will be incremented. With the button previous entries can be modified.
