How to upload files to SharePoint

There are several ways to upload files to SharePoint from MKG. In this article, you will learn how to do this by dragging documents, using the layout configuration, or creating export scripts.

If you want to upload MKG documents to SharePoint, you can do this in several ways. You can simply add or drag the files, adjust the layout configuration on SharePoint, or use export scripts.

Adding or dragging documents

When adding documents in MKG, you can drag your desired file from Explorer into MKG or click the New

button on the 'Documents' tab. A pop-up window will then appear.

To upload files to SharePoint, you only need to select the option 'Include in SharePoint' under Add options in this pop-up. Selecting a document category is mandatory here.

The layout configuration

MKG uses layout groups in the background for different processes, both for purchasing and sales. If you want to place a document in SharePoint using the layout configuration, you can set this up in a few steps:

1 Go to the relevant layout or report definition, for example, the sales invoice.
2 Click on the field Target structure in the Detail section.
3 Select the target 'Export'.
4 In the pop-up, go to the 'Document links' tab and choose 'Include in SharePoint' under Add options.
5 Click OK to save.

If you want MKG to save the documents to a specific location, type the file path starting with “SharePoint:”. MKG will then place your document in that specific location.

Export scripts

It is also possible to place files in SharePoint via export scripts. You need to follow a few steps for this:

1 Go to the Export scripts module and open an export script.
2 Click the field Target in the header. A pop-up window will open.
3 Type the location where you want to save the documents in the File field. It is important that this starts with “SharePoint:”. For example: SharePoint:Export\Relaties\Relaties.xml if you want to export relations to the Export » Relations folder.

Tip!
You can make the 'Include in SharePoint' add option mandatory in the administration settings.
