How to Use Search Filters with AI?

In MKG, it is possible to perform advanced search queries using AI. With this functionality, you can type in your own words what you would like to see. AI then converts your prompt into a concrete search query. This article explores the possibilities of this AI functionality.

Who Can Use AI Search Filters

AI search filters are part of the general AI functionalities in MKG. Administrators determine whether each user can use AI features by checking or unchecking the 'Can use AI features' option in the user profile. If this option is checked, the user can also use AI search filters.

Applications of This Functionality

Search Queries in Natural Language

In all collections where you can create search queries, you will see an input field before the Search button

. In this field, you can enter a search query in natural language. After typing your search query, press enter. MKG will then try to automatically convert the text into a search query. If unsuccessful, you will receive a notification. If successful, the search query will appear in the search query overview. The list is automatically refreshed, allowing you to see the result immediately.

If you start a new search query with a plus sign (+), it will be added to the previous search query. For example:

  1. contacts from Hengelo
  2. +active

With the first search query, you will see all contacts from Hengelo. After the second search query, only the active contacts from Hengelo will be displayed.

Search History

Each user has their own search history. This allows you to quickly apply frequently used search queries. Up to 100 search queries are stored. If this number is exceeded, the least used search query is removed. The input field contains a dropdown with historical search queries, sorted by usage. This list is automatically filtered based on what you enter and works just like the search bar in Chrome.

Information Button

On the right side of the input field, you will find an information button. The tooltip of this button explains how MKG converted the text into a search query.

Filters and Fields

When filtering, MKG uses all fields of the document that can be filtered, including fields from underlying collections. Only MKG fields are used, not user fields from the LDM model.
