“Fully automate the internal logistics processes. KUMATECH does this for the production environment of companies in the manufacturing industry. The result is the so-called building blocks, such as AGVs, storage towers, and pallet dispensers. These three building blocks work standalone, but are also fully automated. We develop and build all building blocks in Bakel with the principle of “simplicity in complexity”.

At the machine level, companies have well-developed their processes. By placing a robot in front of a machine, the speeds are maximized. However, in terms of automation, internal logistics is still a neglected area. The operator on the shop floor often takes on tasks such as moving goods from A to B. The costs of these tasks are not visible, and you do not see these actions reflected in the added value of the product.

In every production environment, they are present: pallets. They are the universal carriers that everyone is accustomed to. Often they are scattered across the floor, while you want them neatly and centrally stored. KUMATECH therefore devised the pallet dispensers. These store pallets vertically and can, like the storage towers, be linked to the AGVs. With this triangle, we now have a complete solution for the automation of internal logistics instead of a partial solution.

The deployment of the building blocks does require something internally from companies. Employees may perceive the use as a threat. It is precisely for this reason that we have named the AGVs Tractor Tom, Pallet Jack, Lifting Jim, and Forklift Joe. Once people consider the AGVs as a colleague, acceptance is quicker. Why does MKG work well for us? MKG is clear and structured. Additionally, we like that it is in Dutch hands. What improvements do we want to see in MKG? KUMATECH is a machine builder. We would like to have more functionality in machine and vehicle management to build a good history.”
