For some time, we have been assisting our MKG004 clients in transitioning to MKG5. Each transition process is carefully planned and executed, with the commitment of both MKG and the client being crucial for the success of the transition.

“Omega Thermo Products B.V. is a manufacturing company specializing in the production of sustainable pillow plates and cooling and heating devices. Pillow plates? Simply put: you weld two stainless steel plates together across the entire surface in a regular pattern. You then press air between them, and the deformed plate creates a kind of metal cushion. This creates a channel that can be filled with liquids or gases, making it an extremely strong cooling or heating element. Our products can now be found in every conceivable industry. From wineries, where millions of liters of champagne need to be cooled, to the coronavirus vaccine that must be stored or transported at -70 degrees.


Experiences with the transition process?

We experienced the transition process as successful and pleasant. The consultants had thoroughly studied our process in advance and were therefore able to provide advice on the right (bottleneck) points. Since we had been working with MKG004 for many years, we had the opportunity to use our own database in the MKG5 Practice Environment. This allowed employees to practice with the same data they always worked with and report bottlenecks.



What should you consider before entering the transition process?

Now that we have transitioned from MKG004 to MKG5, I recommend everyone first to clearly understand what your core business is and what you need to execute it effectively. This is to prevent complications after going live. Also, consider reports and import and export scripts that may need to be rewritten. It is also very important to approach the process as a team. Regularly practice and discuss the findings of the users to ensure a smooth go-live.

What are the advantages of MKG5?

We are already experiencing many benefits of MKG5. We have not only transitioned from MKG004 to MKG5 but have also converted the financial setup from Basic to Client-specific. This gives us much more insight into the financial status. The various dashboards of MKG5 are a major plus that many users utilize daily. The different display fields provide employees with a control screen or input screen at the touch of a button. This reduces the chance of making mistakes.


What would we like to see improved in MKG?

A number of simple functions that we used frequently in MKG004, such as the F5 function, the ability to navigate to all linked purchase orders from the production order, and a few other navigation functions, we would like to see returned in MKG5. ”
