In the section Application in Practice, we present interesting solutions within MKG. The chosen solution was devised for a specific client, but it may also be of interest to others. In this article, you will read how the company Hetraco in Apeldoorn uses MKG's notification management to issue professional material certificates.

With dimensions ranging from M5 to as large as M200 and in various lengths up to about 10 meters, Hetraco produces 'special fasteners'. These special fasteners, such as bolts, nuts, and studs, are manufactured at the machine factory, Dutch Bolting Company, specializing in thread rolling instead of cutting. Hetraco serves the global machinery construction, petrochemical, maritime, and offshore sectors, all of which demand certified products. "Deliveries with various certifications are therefore daily business for us," says Boris te Winkel, General Manager of Hetraco. "We also maintain a quality policy aimed at continuing to guarantee and control the quality and certification of the delivered product."

For Boris, it was clear from the outset that these material certificates had to be integrated within MKG. In the past, this was solved in MKG004 using formulas in memo fields, a method that is not possible in MKG5. "With MKG consultant Martijn Timmer, I therefore sat down during the transition to MKG5 to see if our desire, no: requirement, to continue working with material certificates in MKG could be fulfilled." It turned out to be possible. Enthusiastic about the solution, Boris explains how Notification Management works within MKG for Hetraco.

The Application

When a purchase order is booked, a batch is created. Through the purchase packing slip, you can immediately go to the batch and there to the 'Notifications' tab. Here, the specially created notification type 'Material Certificate' can be selected. In the 'Answers', you fill in the certificate values based on the original certificate that came with the material purchase. This is the only input required. The original certificate is then linked to the batch as a document. Subsequently, a production order can be created based on the material (always an article). When reserving the stock, the batch is selected, and the correct quantities are issued. After the production is completed, the Hetraco certificate - which lists the final product and the values of the linked material certificates entered through Notifications - is generated via the report.

And Boris is not only enthusiastic about the solution for integrating their own material certificates in MKG: "All materials and batches with certificates are visible to me at a glance via the Inventory Dashboard. This way, I can see in real-time if there is enough material within a batch with the correct certificate for urgent orders."

Even when creating a bill of materials, specifications and specification codes can be recorded for materials and outsourcing that can be further detailed in the process, in calculations and production orders. It is also possible to choose to redefine the specifications based on the currently applicable purchase price agreements of articles.
