The Calculations Module

The Calculations module is used for creating preliminary calculations. You can use the module by incorporating a sales quote into the calculation or by creating an 'independent' calculation. In addition to materials, you add operations to a calculation. An outsourcing is considered an operation in MKG.

Engineering Calculations

On the module start page, you search for and select an existing calculation or create a new calculation. The calculation then opens.

Immediately below the navigation bar, you see the button bar. This screen contains - in addition to the general buttons - the following module-specific buttons:

  •     Include in Calculation. [...].
  •     Mark Calculation as Complete. [...].
  •     Quote Request List. This opens the Quote Request List in the Quote Requests module , allowing you to request a quote for the lines in the calculation.
  •     Calculation List. This opens the Calculation List. This list contains the sales quote lines that can be included in the calculation.
  •     Refresh Prices. Recalculate the prices in the calculation. Useful when using a calculation made in the past. This calculation can easily be recalculated with current prices.

  •

    • Refresh Coverage and Calculation Percentages. This coverage is recorded in the administration settings. If these have been changed in the meantime, the changes are adopted into the calculation under this option.
    • Refresh Net Prices. Material prices are updated and recalculated. Manually entered prices are not adjusted.
    • Overwrite Entry Prices. Under this option, manually entered prices are also adjusted.
    • Overwrite Only 0 Values. If only manually adjusted zero prices need to be changed, this option can be chosen.
    • Refresh Prices. Operation rates are updated and recalculated. Manually entered rates are not adjusted.
    • Overwrite Entry Prices. Under this option, manually entered prices are also adjusted.

Calculation Header

Immediately below the button bar is the calculation header. In the fields of the header, you enter the data applicable to the entire calculation.

Calculation

  • Calculation. The serial number is automatically generated by MKG after creating the sales quote based on the configured process numbering (see Administration Settings Process Numbering).
  • Article. If the quote concerns an existing article, the article number is presented here.
  • Description. Text field to display the description of the calculation.

Tab End Products

When the calculation header is manually created, the end product must be defined first.

In most cases, the end product is automatically generated from the sales quote line. This end product is automatically linked to the calculation after the 'Include in Calculation' action in the Sales Quotes module.

The 'End Products' tab contains the end product of the calculation. This tab contains, in addition to some general buttons, the following module-specific buttons:

  •     Validate. [...].
  •     Include in Calculation. [...].
  •     Mark Calculation as Complete. [...].
  •     Create Article. This allows you to directly create an article from an end product or semi-finished product line during the calculation. If a line is derived from an article (the article number is filled in for that line), it is no longer possible to create an article from it.
