Overview of Shortcuts and Function Keys in MKG

By using shortcuts or key combinations in MKG, you do not need to constantly switch between keyboard and mouse. Some of these key combinations are the same as the commonly used key combinations in Microsoft Office.

 

Operation of MKG

Ctrl+A

 Select the entire field content When focused on the field

Ctrl+C

 Copy the field value When focused on the field and with selected field content

Ctrl+D

 Open the Detail screen The focus shifts to the Detail screen

Ctrl+F

 Open or close the search window  

Ctrl+N

 Create a new record When focused on the header, a dropdown list with available subtables opens

Ctrl+P

 Open a linked report  

Ctrl+S

 Save a change  

Ctrl+U

 Cancel (Undo)  

Ctrl+V

 Paste the copied/cut field value When focused on the field

Ctrl+X

 Cut the field value When focused on the field

Ctrl+F11

 Open the field data When focused on the field

Ctrl+Enter

 Execute a search  

Ctrl+Enter

 Open Modify Field window This works for memo fields

Ctrl+Shift+D

 Close the Detail screen The focus shifts to the list

Ctrl+Tab

 Quickly switch between open windows within MKG  

Ctrl + arrow up

 Go to the first field up within a list  

Ctrl + arrow down

 Go to the last field down within a list  

Delete

 Delete a record When focused on the list

Esc

 Revert the input This can only be done before you save the change

Shift+Enter

 Search by key value Instead of the set search fields

Shift+Tab

 Go to the previous field  

Shift + arrow left/right

 Select the entire field content  

Tab

 Go to the next field  

F8

 Display user+date+time stamp in Memo field Visible when Modifying field

F9

 Go to the underlying table When focused on the field

F5

 Refresh the screen content
