E-invoices can now be exported in the ZUGFeRD format

It is now possible to export invoices in the ZUGFeRD format (pdf + xml) according to the EN 16931/COMFORT profile. ZUGFeRD is a standard for electronic invoicing that combines a pdf invoice with xml data. Both components are merged into one PDF/A-3 file. This allows the same invoice to be viewed by a user and automatically processed by, for example, an ERP or accounting system.

 

Exporting from MKG

When exporting a sales invoice, the new ZUGFeRD format (pdf + xml) is available. When using this format:

• the sales invoice is created as a pdf file;
• the invoice data is converted to xml according to the EN 16931 standard;
• the xml is included as factur-x.xml within the pdf;
• the complete pdf file can then be processed or sent via the existing export options.

This way, the pdf remains readable in the usual manner, while receiving systems can automatically process the attached xml.
