What is the SharePoint integration in MKG?

MKG works with Microsoft SharePoint. In this article, we explain what the SharePoint integration is and how you can use it in your MKG ERP environment.

 

 

 

SharePoint as document storage

When you use MKG, you need a storage location for documents. This document storage is necessary to retrieve files (think of conditions) and to save files (think of drawings). By connecting MKG with SharePoint, you can retrieve and save these files to SharePoint. The advantage of this is that SharePoint is online, shareable, and can be synchronized locally.

 

 

How does the SharePoint integration work in MKG ERP?

The integration with SharePoint offers a hybrid solution. This means you can use an existing server for document storage while also deploying the SharePoint integration. Of course, it is also possible to use only SharePoint as document storage. Furthermore, the integration provides an extension to the document rights model. Because documents are placed by MKG in SharePoint, SharePoint determines the rights.

 

 

How does MKG ERP save the files?

When you use the SharePoint integration, MKG saves files in the standard way. The only difference with local storage is that the file location is a SharePoint location. How to get started with the SharePoint integration

1 Make sure you know what is needed to successfully set up the SharePoint integration. For this, read the various knowledge items on Mijn MKG. If you still have questions afterwards, you can contact the MKG Helpdesk.
2 Contact your consultant or regular MKG contact person to inform them that you want to start the integration.
3 Together with your IT partner, you can independently carry out the technical setup, both the setup on the Microsoft side and the configuration in MKG. Always check according to the instructions whether the connection is successful.
4 Schedule an appointment with your consultant to further configure MKG and determine new workflows.
