Examples of User Process Notifications

Smart input, control, and management of your processes have become within reach. By combining the functionalities of Process Notifications and Field Validation, it is possible to signal and block user actions within MKG. In this article, we illustrate this with an example and two videos.

User Process Notifications
It is possible to record work processes and agreements made within your organization in MKG. This way, certain processes can be blocked when they meet a specific condition.

Example: Placing a Purchase Order

Within a company, it is agreed that each purchaser may order up to 25,000 euros, above which the Finance department must approve. Suppose the purchaser wants to place an order worth 27,000 euros, the Order button will be blocked until Finance has approved.

The Finance department automatically receives a pop-up in MKG from which they can directly jump to the relevant purchase order. Once Finance has given approval, the order can be placed. This is visible afterwards through the logged data.

Examples: Deviating Revision and Blocking Confirmation

In two videos, we show two examples of the possibilities of User Process Notifications: releasing a bill of materials with a deviating revision and blocking the sending of an order confirmation if there is no drawing.

Releasing a Bill of Materials with a Deviating Revision
In this video, it is shown through a process notification (with activities) that when the revision of a sales order line deviates from the revision of the item, it cannot be produced until it is approved by the Engineering user group.

Unable to Confirm without Drawing
In this video, it is shown through a configured process notification how the action Confirm on the sales order line can be blocked when it is recorded for this debtor that it is mandatory for them.

This type of user process notifications can be applied in any process. It is important that you have clearly described (and mapped out) which action(s) in MKG should be signaled or blocked before we can set this up for you. For more information, contact our Business Intelligence department.
