New: MKG WebApps

With MKG WebApps, we introduce a new generation of applications within the MKG platform. MKG WebApps are small, task-oriented applications that allow you to easily and efficiently perform specific business processes. They are developed to enable employees to quickly and easily perform specific tasks without the need for the full MKG client. The first 4 standard applications are now available.

What are MKG WebApps?

MKG WebApps are small, task-oriented applications designed to execute specific business processes simply and efficiently. Instead of providing a user access to a full ERP system, they receive only the functionality necessary for their task. Consider digitally signing delivery notes, adding photos and documents, consulting product information, recording quality checks, and issuing materials.

Not every employee always needs all the functionality of an ERP system. Often, executing one task is sufficient. MKG WebApps offer a clear interface, fewer input fields, fewer actions, faster processing with less chance of errors. By displaying only relevant information and functions, employees work more efficiently, processes are executed faster, acceptance increases, less training is needed, and errors are minimized.

  • Fully integrated with MKG ERP. MKG WebApps work directly with data from MKG ERP. So no double entry, no separate databases, no additional links, and direct data processing. Registrations performed via a WebApp are immediately visible within MKG ERP and available to other users.
  • Device-independent. MKG WebApps run entirely in the browser, so local installation is not necessary. Supported platforms: Windows, macOS, Android, and iOS. This makes the WebApps suitable for use on tablets and smartphones on the shop floor, in the warehouse, on the go, at the customer, at the supplier.
  • Standardized building blocks. MKG WebApps are developed with the same technical foundation and components. The advantages: recognizable user experience, consistent operation, faster development, simpler maintenance, and reliable operation after updates. This allows new functionalities to be developed faster without compromising quality and stability.

Request Leave

Included

With the webapp Request Leave, employees can easily request leave, check the available leave balance, and view previous leave requests. The application fully aligns with the existing leave functionality within MKG and allows leave requests to be quickly and clearly registered from any device.

Sign Delivery Note

Under license

With the webapp Sign Delivery Note, sales delivery notes can be digitally checked, signed, and directly stored as a document with the relevant delivery note in MKG. The application is designed to simplify the signing process on-site or on the go and make the signed delivery note directly digitally available.

Add Files

Under license

The webapp Add Files allows users to easily add photos and images to records within MKG by scanning a QR code. This enables users to take photos directly from a mobile phone or tablet and save them to the correct record without first navigating to the relevant screen in MKG.

Create Notification

Under license

The webapp Create Notification is designed to quickly and easily record notifications on the shop floor. Via a mobile phone or tablet, an employee can directly register a notification, link it to a specific process, and optionally provide photos. This allows quality issues, malfunctions, deviations, and improvement points to be directly recorded at the place where they occur.

How to access MKG WebApps?

1. Ensure you have a working API +-

Through the MKG API, data and processes can be linked in a structured way. This makes it possible to exchange information, automate processes, and make MKG part of a broader digital landscape. To work with MKG WebApps, the working API is also required. If you are already using the API for other API connections or use the Shop Floor, then the API already works, and you can proceed to step 2. Otherwise, go to the page How to import an SSL certificate? for further explanation.

2. Install version 100 and request the license +-

From version 100, 'MKG WebApps' is standardly added to your MKG license form in My MKG. Here you activate the number of licenses you think you need. No license is required for the MKG WebApp Request Leave, this webapp is free for everyone to use.

3. Sign up in the WebApps Portal +-

MKG WebApps are developed as Progressive Web Apps (PWA's). This allows them to be used directly via a browser, but also installed as an application on a computer, tablet, or smartphone. Although installation is not mandatory - the portal can also be opened directly via the browser - we recommend installing the portal. It is then faster accessible and works more like a normal application, improving the user experience on mobile devices and tablets. Install and sign up via https://webapps.mkg.eu.

4. Log in with your own credentials +-

Log in with your own username and password.

Managing MKG WebApps

In the new module WebApps, it is possible to manage device-independent applications from self-developed applications or standard applications provided by MKG.

  • The 'WebApps' tab is an overview page of all available standard WebApps and own WebApps. Here you have the option to set the authorization for the WebApps per document.
  • The 'Active sessions' tab shows the WebApps opened by users. Through Close, you can close the active sessions.

Note!
The new 'WebApps' functionality is in an initial live phase. More WebApps will become available in the (near) future.
